Formed in 1989 and based in Ampthill, Bedfordshire, Kettles soon became established as specialists for the refurbishment of Floors, Exterior Cladding and Cut- Edge Corrosion, with the accent firmly on “Service”.
With his background in Mechanical Engineering, Steve Giddings was asked to join the steering committee that formalised BS5750 (Forerunner to ISO Certification) in the UK and has particular interest in Innovative Coating Technologies, which includes the protection of both internal and external surfaces and as such, has a wealth of “Hands-On” experience when compiling a specification for the Roofing, Cladding or Flooring sections of a maintenance schedule.
Shawn Bruce has been with Kettles since its formation in 1989 and has over 25 years experience within the industry, specialising in Industrial Protective Coatings to all Elevational Cladded and Roofing Surfaces, which includes a total refurbishment system for Cut-Edge Corrosion on Steel Roof Cladding. Shawn’s approach is based on time spent “On the Tools”, which his clients find invaluable. Liaising with Steel Manufacturers, Surveyors and Architects, Shawn continues to work with leading companies throughout the UK.
Gary Bruce joined Kettles in 1990 having worked on all aspects of Maintenance Management, including refurbishment to exterior surfaces. Gary ensures the smooth day-to-day operation of both the Cladding and Roofing projects that Kettles undertake, dealing with Surveyors, Site Maintenance Managers and Material Suppliers.
The office is the nerve centre of Kettles, It is reliably staffed by Jan Chandler and Catherine Robinson, both of whom have worked for Kettles for some years. Jan’s expertise is in sourcing many of the projects that come to fruition and has worked at Kettles since 1996. Catherine oversees the administration of the office and joined the team in 2005.

Today Kettles are proud to be associated with their “Blue Chip” reference list of partners from across the industrial spectrum, all of whom had a particular issue with their floors resolved with help from the Kettles team.
